Includes all theory and practical exercises necessary to enable students to become competent Permaculture Designers and Teachers. Our Design Course Graduates may, teach and Permaculture & Design for themselves & others.

We encourage the establishment of independent organically minded Permaculture Designers and Practitioners whose collective efforts support the ongoing Ethics and Principles of Permaculture

Janahn Forest showcases a broad range of Permaculture Land Use Systems. The annual climate here ranges from a cold frost prone winter to a sub tropical summer season. Extended dry periods are frequent, as are periodic high rainfall episodes. Our farm has been designed to capture and utilize all regular rainfall.

We produce most of our food on our
Permaculture Farm so you are able to see
production methods at work.

The Foundation Text of our Permaculture Design Course Curriculum is contained in
Permaculture, A Designers Manual, by Bill Mollison.

Pre-course Correspondence is focused on Natural Pattern Understanding. There is no set exam for this course. During the course you will create individual and team PC Designs. You will receive all the assistance that you need from your teacher. An understanding of Permaculture Design is an ongoing experience relevant to your own practical experiences. Credibility as a Designer and Teacher is only gained by "work on the ground".

First day arrival on Saturday Evening commences with a Special Session focused on Traditional Nutrition and Food Preparation. Our On Farm Tuition is based on a 10 hour day. Field work is a feature of our Permaculture course.The following Sunday Morning is the conclusion of the Permaculture Design Course with a Farewell Breakfast and presentation of PDC Certificates.

book of our PDC Curriculum.

You will find other Permaculture Titles at

All listed books are recommended reading.

The Designers Manual is best considered a long term reference
book for the serious Permaculture Designer and Teacher.

Our night sky is spectacular -
and sunrise is always accompanied
by the many and varied sounds of
native birds.

Our Farm is a part of a natural roost for about 1500 birds that visit every year from February to June.
